Philosophy on Public Service
Public service is about listening, connecting, and working tirelessly to make a difference. My time on the Fredericksburg City School Board has reinforced my belief in the power of collaboration and consensus-building. I’ve developed strong and open relationships with my fellow board members where we can address any topic with mutual respect and understanding. I bring that same spirit of trust and teamwork to every aspect of my service.
I believe that leadership should be driven by action and sincerity. When challenges arise, I don’t wait for someone else to solve them. I step up, tackle them head-on, and work toward solutions. I’m also willing to have tough conversations when needed, always with the goal of finding common ground. What I say is what I mean, and my decisions are guided by integrity and a focus on what’s best for the community, free of other agendas or distractions.
Above all, I see public service as a joy and a privilege. I genuinely love talking to people, hearing their perspectives, and ensuring they feel heard and valued. Every conversation I have deepens my commitment to not let anyone down and do everything I can to see that their concerns are validated. This work isn’t just a responsibility but rather an opportunity to connect, to grow, and to build a better Fredericksburg together.
